GEI Works Standard Containment Boom is a reliable option for locations dealing with unwanted trash, debris, seaweed, spills, treatment areas, or aquatic plants. Made from marine-grade materials, each Standard Containment Boom is designed for high-strength debris control. An industry favorite for durability and strength, each boom is manufactured in the USA, making it ideal for both commercial and private locations whether large or small, looking to contain debris and trash.

This boom is suitable for most floating trash and debris including aquatic plants, plastic bags, debris, leaves, small branches, styrofoam, and more. In-water factors such as current, wind, or waves at your location will determine which boom is needed due to site conditions.
Having a debris boom in place can drastically reduce the cost of cleanup and help control pollution upstream, downstream, or at the source. Our Standard Containment Boom is made with 22 oz PVC, (other options available), and is manufactured to ASTM (1523) standards.

GEI Perm Boom is a high buoyancy, industrial, long term solution for containment of many forms of floating debris and seaweed in areas where long term solutions may be needed. Constructed from heavy duty marine-grade materials, these boom can withstand extensive use in calm open water conditions and present significant cost savings due to their long field-use life. Each boom is manufactured at GEI Works’ facility in the USA, making it ideal for both commercial and private locations whether large or small, looking to contain debris and trash.

Our Perm Boom also feature rugged polyester belting with UV and marine growth inhibitors and a series of high density polyethylene floats placed along the length of the belt. Floats are high impact and provide the boom added support. Successfully used in docks, terminals, industrial areas, power plants, marinas, harbors to control waste, Perm Boom effectively controls debris, plastic, trash, and aquatic plants.

GEI Works’ Seaweed Containment Boom is designed to meet the more rigorous conditions of water containing large plumes of seaweed or other floating vegetation. Seaweed Boom is used to help control floating seaweed through containment, diversion, or deflection. Large algae blooms and floating seaweed islands such as Sargassum are often in water conditions that require tidal and current consideration.

Our Seaweed Containment Boom is built with robust components, dual tension cables, and a heavy-duty permeable skirt that allows for more water passthrough without sacrificing the barrier’s ability to withstand the significant weight of floating plants.

GEI Oil Fence Boom is a quick response unit used in harbors, ports, marinas, docks, and other loading areas. Manufactured with flat foam flotations, these booms are designed to float around spills and prevent the spread of oil and other hazardous liquids.

When compared to our standard boom, the fence boom is designed with more compact floats that allow the unit to be folded, stacked, or placed on reels. This makes the reeled boom easy to store, transport, and deploy during times of need. They are constructed from 22 oz. PVC and feature an overall height of either 12, 19, 24, or 36 inches.

GEI Works’ absorbent boom solutions provide containment with maximum absorption of hydrocarbons while repelling water, ensuring that your boom does not shed or sink even when saturated. Hardware clips along the exterior length and marine rope along the length make deployment and retrieval easy. Sections can be linked together to form barriers in the lengths required for your site. GEI Works Steel Mesh Booms are one of the strongest available options for debris exclusion, containment, and deflection. Steel mesh booms are perfect for any location that requires increased containment of larger items where the debris is just below the surface or where water currents tend to push debris under a traditional boom line. Made from aluminum or stainless steel frames and expanded metal mesh along with polyethylene floats, these barriers are robust enough to handle larger items.

Floating and submerged debris created by wind, water currents, and waves can damage your facilities, equipment and docks. Steel Mesh Boom are a durable, weatherproof solution for some of these common nuisances: trees, branches, logs, cans, plastic, glass, vegetation, and other submerged debris. GEI Works Shoreline Boom is effective in controlling floating debris or oil spills in shallow water areas. Two water-filled chambers run the length and provide a steady base that seals shorelines, swamps, marshes, beaches, or river banks. The barrier is especially effective in areas with fluctuating water levels or in tidal conditions. In very shallow water the barrier rests on the bottom, preventing contaminants or debris from traveling underneath the boom as well as providing surface protection with its upper air-filled chamber. If the water is deeper than the height of the ballast tubes, the barrier functions like a conventional boom, with the air filled top chamber providing continuous surface protection. Boom connectors on shoreline boom can be matched to fit other boom models.

GEI Works Net Boom is a reliable option to control and contain aquatic life such as jellyfish with its submerged net. During high seasons, jellyfish are a common problem around beaches, intakes, and generators at power plants. Net Boom is most commonly designed for use in calm or mild water conditions with limited currents, waves, or tidal action.

Net Boom is constructed from standard PVC materials throughout the top flotation and freeboard consists of PVC border and connected along the bottom of the skirt is a marine-grade bottom net. This net works to exclude debris and jellyfish, allowing for the protection of intakes and other water areas.

While our Net Boom is perfect for locations dealing with aquatic species, such as jellyfish, it is typically not designed for areas with debris or trash, as the netting can get clogged up by debris. For those areas, we recommend a higher-strength option like our Standard Containment Boom or Seaweed Boom which allows for water permeability.

GEI Works Submersible Boom is a product used for specialized applications where intakes are located at the bottom of a water body. These underwater boom are set and anchored by divers. Submersible boom is used in conjunction with floating Turbidity Curtains where the depth of the floating curtain overlaps with the top of the submersible boom.

The Submersible Boom is always configured to meet the conditions at the site. Foam size, ballast, anchoring and other factors will be determined in conjunction with your technical representative here at GEI Works.
