Fuel Containment Berm
Spill Containment Berms Between Trucks and Tanks
Question: Are your spill containment berms for water handling only or fuels also? I need a berm to be placed between a fueling truck and tank for prevention of diesel fuel spills or leaks. It would need to be about 2 meters wide and 3 meters long.
Answer: Thank you for contacting GEI Works! Spill containment berms are extremely versatile products and are made for fuel, oil, hydrocarbons, as well as various chemicals and water products. They have frequently been implemented in containment for the following:
- Fuel Tank Leaks
- Oil Spill Cleanup
- Truck Wheel Washing
- HAZMAT Chemical Spill Response
- Decon Pool Showers
Spill Containment Berms are made from a wide range of materials equipped to handle both fuel and water products. To help us determine the correct fuel containment berms for your location, please provide us with information regarding the exact type of liquid you are trying to contain. This can help us match your berm material to your liquid.
For your application, there are two main styles from which to choose:
- Aluminum Angle Bracket: These multi-purpose spill control berms feature aluminum angles that are inserted into the walls for liquid containment. This model can be helpful for areas looking to contain a significant amount of liquid. Standard wall heights will be one foot.
- Foam Wall: The foam wall berm is perfect for locations needing a drive through spill containment product. Walls are low profile (usually around 4") for easy driving on and off.
Most clients use the low profile foam wall in these applications, although both can stand up to the rigors of a job site. Drive-through foam wall berm allows for ease of installation, use, and convenience.
They are designed as a one piece spill berm with no loose parts. Our portable containment berms are easy to setup and unfold then stretch out with self rising end walls that can be driven over repeatedly with no damage. This capability allows for use in fuel containment where trucks and tanks are in use.
